Nationals' Ryan Raburn: Out with side tightness
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Raburn will not play in Friday's spring game due to side tightness, MLB.com's Jamal Collier reports.

Raburn was scratched from the lineup card while Andrew Stevenson will take his spot in left field. It doesn't sound like his injury should be too much of a concern as the club stated that it was a precautionary move to pull him from the game. Barring any setback, Raburn should be back on the field in the near future.

Nationals' Tommy Milone: To start Friday's game
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Milone (elbow) will take the bump for the club's Grapefruit League opener against Houston on Friday, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet reports.

Milone dealt with elbow soreness over the final week of the 2017 season and was officially diagnosed with a bone spur in late September, though he appears to be fully healthy heading into this year. The 31-year-old split time between Milwaukee and the Mets last season, posting a 7.63 ERA and 1.63 WHIP over 48.1 innings. He will be competing to earn a roster spot this spring.

Nationals' Ryan Raburn: Scratched from spring game
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Raburn was scratched from Friday's spring game against Houston, Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports reports.

There was no reason given for the removal of Raburn at this time. The outfielder did miss the last five weeks of the 2017 campaign with a back injury but more should be known in the near future regarding his current status. In 25 big-league games last year, Raburn slashed .262/.304/.431 with two home runs and six RBI. Andrew Stevenson will be plugged into his place for Friday's contest.

Nationals' Matt Grace: To serve as long reliever
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Grace will be stretched out a bit this spring with multi-inning outings in preparation for a long-reliever role this season, Jorge Castillo of The Washington Post reports.

He was the de facto long man last year, throwing 50 innings in 40 outings and compiling one win, two saves and only 31 strikeouts. Grace also made one spot start, throwing 4.1 shutout innings against the Padres, and could be an option if the Nationals have need of a spot starter at some point this season. His inability to miss bats at a sufficient clip makes him uninteresting in the majority of formats.

Nationals' Ismael Guillon: Reports to camp
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Guillon (personal) arrived at Nationals camp Thursday, Jorge Castillo of The Washington Post reports.

Guillon has been held up in his native Venezuela since pitchers and catchers reported to camp last week while awaiting a work visa that would allow him to head to the United States. With that issue now apparently resolved, Guillon, a non-roster invitee, will begin his quest to win a bullpen spot with the Nationals. It's more likely than not, however, that he opens the campaign with Washington's Triple-A affiliate in Syracuse.
