--SS Troy Tulowitzki was ejected in the eighth by plate umpire Rob Drake, who called a third strike when Tulowitzki thought Brewers RHP LaTroy Hawkins had quick-pitched. It was the first ejection of a Rockies player, coach or manager this season and the first ejection of Tulowitzki's career. He went 1-for-4 with two strikeouts, leaving him 4-for-24 in his past six games with one homer and three RBI.

--RHP Huston Street blew his second save in 16 chances when he gave up a leadoff homer in the 13th to Brewers SS Yuniesky Betancourt. Street has yielded six homers in 23 2/3 innings.

--RHP Rafael Betancourt blew his third save and second in three outings when he gave up a game-tying homer to Casey McGehee in the eighth inning. Betancourt has given up at least one hit in four straight games and five of his past six. In those six games, Betancourt has allowed 11 hits and five runs in 5 2/3 innings (7.94 ERA).

--RHP Matt Daley joined the Rockies on Friday after being recalled from class AAA Colorado Springs, and he didn't have to wait long to make his big-league season debut. He pitched the 12th inning and retired Milwaukee's Ryan Braun, Prince Fielder and Casey McGehee in order on 10 pitches, seven strikes.

--LF Carlos Gonzalez didn't start after straining his left groin in the third inning Thursday at Philadelphia and coming out of the game. Gonzalez pinch-hit in the 10th and flied out.

--CF Dexter Fowler was hitless in six at-bats when he singled home the go-ahead run to give the Rockies a short-lived, 6-5 lead in the 14th inning. The hit gave Fowler his 16th RBI, his fourth in his past eight games.

--LHP Matt Reynolds relieved RHP Jason Hammel with two outs in the seventh inning and struck out Brewers 1B Prince Fielder, the only batter he faced. Reynolds has retired the first batter he has faced in 17 of 19 games. Opponents are batting .172 (17-for-99) against Reynolds in his career and .184 (7-for-38) this season.

--RHP Matt Lindstrom, who has a 1.40 ERA in 22 games, made his 11th hitless outing. He has four walks and 16 strikeouts in 19 1/3 innings and has allowed 15 hits.

--RHP Jason Hammel hit his first career homer, a two-run shot in the third off Brewers RHP Zack Greinke that gave the Rockies a 2-1 lead. It was the first homer by a Rockies pitcher in nearly seven years. The last Rockies pitcher to homer was RHP Jason Jennings on May 28, 2004, against the Cubs. Hammel came into the game with a career average of .117 (15-for-128) with three doubles and four RBI.

--The game took 4 hours, 35 minutes and was the second longest of the season by time and equaled the longest by innings. In Colorado's other 14-inning game, the Rockies lost 4-3 at Pittsburgh on April 8 in 5 hours, 11 minutes.

9 -- RF Seth Smith, who went 3-for-6 and tripled home a run in the 13th inning, has a nine-game hitting streak. During the streak, Smith is 14-for-34 (.412) with three doubles, one triple, two homers and six RBI.

"Colorado Springs is a tough place to pitch a lot of times. More than anything, just mentally, it got to me. I really wanted to get back to this level, so I probably didn't have the focus I needed. Other than that, I feel pretty good." -- RHP Matt Daley, who joined the Rockies and pitched a scoreless inning Friday after going 0-2 record with a 6.28 ERA in 17 games with Class AAA Colorado Springs. Nine of the 10 earned runs he allowed in 14 1/3 innings in the minors came in his last three outings.
