Manager Edwin Rodriguez said right fielder Mike Stanton won't return to the Marlins starting lineup until this weekend. An MRI Monday showed a mild strain on his left hamstring.

Stanton will be able to pinch-hit as a last resort but he can't run the bases. "He's probably at 65, 70 percent right now. Probably for the weekend, he might take the field."

Stanton felt tightness in the hamstring before the start of Friday's game. He played five innings before exiting because of discomfort.

There are no plans to put him on the disabled list. "They say it is not that bad," Rodriguez said.

Stanton took batting practice with the team Tuesday then did some light jogging under the supervision of team trainers.

"I feel good, better than I thought," Stanton said afterward.

Stanton pinch hit with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning and drew a walk off Drew Storen. He was lifted for a pinch runner.
