Marlins finally get Ramirez, Stanton healthy simultaneously · Roster Report · Notes, Quotes

--INF Greg Dobbs started at third base Tuesday night instead of Donnie Murphy, who is batting .154 after a 1-for-10 series in Houston. But manager Edwin Rodriguez said Murphy would still get the majority of starts this year.

Rodriguez said he will try to give Dobbs, a left-handed hitter, at least two starts per week. Dobbs went 3-for-4 Saturday with a single, double and home run in his first start of the season. He went 0-for-1 with a walk Tuesday.

Murphy played shortstop on Saturday and Sunday in Houston while Hanley Ramirez was sidelined with a left leg bruise. Wes Helms was at third on Sunday and Dobbs on Saturday.

--Marlins pitchers haven't been bunting well over the team's last two games. RHP Chris Volstad fouled off a bunt attempt to strike out Tuesday. RHP Anibal Sanchez struck out the same way Sunday.

--CF Chris Coghlan beat out a bunt single to third base in the third inning and another in front of the plate in the eighth inning Tuesday, another sign that his surgically repaired left knee is holding up just fine. Coghlan had season-ending surgery Aug. 11 to repair a torn meniscus suffered July 25.

--RHP Edward Mujica received an undisclosed fine Tuesday for hitting Houston's Bill Hall with a pitch Sunday. Mujica claimed he accidentally hit Hall with an inside fastball.

Hall made a hard slide that injured Marlins SS Hanley Ramirez in the seventh inning Friday. Ramirez was helped off the field Friday night and didn't play Saturday and Sunday because of a left leg bruise.

After Hall was hit Sunday in the seventh inning, Marlins 1B Gaby Sanchez was hit in the ninth inning by Astros reliever Aneury Rodriguez, who received a three-game suspension.

Manager Edwin Rodriguez said he doesn't expect any carryover when the Marlins play the Astros again, July 7-10 at Sun Life Stadium.

"Hopefully they turned the page, too," he said. "They got Gaby, and in my opinion that was intentional."

--RHP Josh Johnson on Wednesday will try to beat the Braves for the first time since 2009. He was 0-1 in three starts against Atlanta last year, posting a 1.50 ERA over those games. The Marlins have lost the last three games Johnson has started against the Braves. His last win at Turner Field was Aug. 27, 2008, when he allowed one run on four hits in a complete game.

10 -- With a double in the fifth inning Tuesday night, LF Logan Morrison has reached base via a hit or walk in all 10 games this year.

"This is who we've got to go out and beat consistently. With the guys that we have, we'll be capable of doing that. We just have to bring it every night and grind out at-bats and not give any up." -- LF Logan Morrison, after the Marlins suffered their first shutout loss of the year Tuesday night in the first of three games in Atlanta. After the series against the Braves, Florida plays this weekend in Philadelphia.
