But the only San Diego hitter close to a personal record during their record run -- the Padres on Monday night tied a franchise record by scoring more than seven runs in a fifth straight game -- is shortstop Jason Bartlett.
Bartlett moved to within one game of tying a club record Monday night when he drove in at least one run in an eighth straight game with a two-run double in the second off Arizona starter Armando Galarraga.
Bartlett also has an eight-game hitting streak in the works.
"I didn't know that. Thanks for jinxing me," Bartlett deadpanned Monday afternoon when told about his run of RBI in what was then seven straight games. "Since I don't hit homers, it's not something I could have done alone. I've had a lot of runners on base over the last week."
Bartlett is 14-for-36 during the eight-game hitting streak with five doubles and 11 RBI.
