Demetrious Johnson proved once again why he's the pound-for-pound king of UFC. Fighting against the winner of "The Ultimate Fighter" reality show, Tim Elliott, Johnson looked sluggish early.
"Mighty Mouse" was wobbled by Elliott's unorthodox style and was outstuck early. Elliott even locked in a submission in the first round that many flyweight fighters would have tapped out against. But Johnson did what he's done so many times before. He instituted his impressive ground game and grinded out the unanimous decision victory.
Elliott, who was a massive underdog at +500, impressed with his technical skill by preventing and surviving multiple submission attempts from Johnson. However, Johnson held top position on the ground for nearly 20 minutes of the 25-minute bout.
Johnson is now one win shy of tying Anderson Silva's record for most consecutive titles defenses (10) in UFC history.
