NASCAR: NASCAR Cup Series at Atlanta

One day after Austin Cindric pulled off a surprising win at the Shady Rays 200, the NASCAR Xfinity Series returns to Kentucky Speedway on Friday night at 8 p.m. ET for the 2020 Alsco 300. It's the 11th Xfinity Series race since May 21 as the series looks to make up for events lost due to the coronavirus pandemic. The top 15 finishers from Thursday will be reversed for the starting order on Friday, meaning rookie Myatt Snider will have the pole position.

Snider, however, is going off as a huge long shot at 80-1 in the latest 2020 Alsco 300 odds. The NASCAR Xfinity Series at Kentucky odds list Chase Briscoe as the favorite at 5-2, followed closely by Cindric and Noah Gragson at 3-1. Before locking in any 2020 Alsco 300 picks or entering a NASCAR DFS contest on a site like FanDuel or DraftKings, be sure to see the NASCAR Xfinity Series predictions from the proven model at SportsLine

Developed by daily Fantasy pro and SportsLine predictive data engineer Mike McClure, this proprietary NASCAR prediction model simulates every race 10,000 times, taking into account factors such as track history and recent results.

The model began the 2020 NASCAR season by picking Denny Hamlin to win his second consecutive Daytona 500 at 10-1. It got off to a hot start on its NASCAR picks following the coronavirus hiatus as well, calling seven of the top 10 drivers at The Real Heroes 400 and the Toyota 500 at Darlington.

Using the model, McClure also recommended an outright play on winner Brad Keselowski at 13-1 as one of his best bets at Bristol. The model also called Kevin Harvick's win at Atlanta and nailed a whopping nine top-10 finishers in that race. McClure also used the model to lock in an outright bet on Hamlin winning at 10-1 at Miami.

And last week at The Brickyard, the model called Harvick's fourth victory of the season. Additionally, McClure used the model to identify winner Noah Gragson (13-1) as one of his best bets in the Xfinity Series 2020 Cheddar's 300 last month. Anybody who has followed the model has seen some huge returns.

Now, the model simulated the 2020 Alsco 300 on Friday, July 10 10,000 times. Head here to see the complete projected leaderboard.

Top 2020 Alsco 300 predictions

For the 2020 Alsco 300, the model is high on Daniel Hemric even though he's a big 25-1 long shot in the Xfinity Series Kentucky odds. He's a target for anyone looking for a huge payday. Hemric is getting longer odds on Friday because he didn't race on Thursday and will have to come from the back of the pack as he's set to start 34th.

But he's been a regular contender at the Xfinity Series level this year, recording five finishes of seventh place or better, including a runner-up performance at Charlotte. He's had a ton of success at Kentucky as well, finishing second in 2018 and ninth in 2017 at the Xfinity level. He also finished third in the Truck Series at Kentucky in 2016.

And a massive shocker: Ross Chastain, one of the Vegas favorites at 7-1, stumbles big-time and barely cracks the top five. There are far better values in this 2020 Alsco 300 starting lineup. Chastain has been a regular in the top 10 this year, but is still looking for his first outright win.

And though he had a solid third-place performance on Thursday, Kentucky hasn't been a great track for him historically. He has an average finish position of 29.50 in his two Cup Series runs at this venue, and hasn't been a lot better at the Xfinity level, barely averaging a top-20 finish entering this week. With short odds and not much history of success at Kentucky, Chastain is one of the 2020 Alsco 300 favorites to avoid on Friday.

How to make 2020 Alsco 300 picks

The model is also targeting another driver with 2020 NASCAR Xfinity Series at Kentucky odds of 25-1 or longer to make a serious run at the checkered flag. Anyone who backs this driver could hit it big. You can only see who it is here.
