Kevin Harvick won his fourth career NASCAR Cup Series regular-season championship a year ago after notching seven victories, including one at Darlington Raceway. The 45-year-old opened the playoffs with another triumph on the track and finished the year with a personal-best nine wins. Harvick will attempt to start the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs in identical fashion when he participates in the 2021 Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington on Sunday.

Harvick, who was sixth at Darlington in May to give him 16 top-10 finishes in 27 series starts on the track, is listed at 15-2 in the 2021 Cook Out Southern 500 odds from Caesars Sportsbook. Regular-season champion Kyle Larson is the favorite at 11-4, while Martin Truex Jr. (9-2), Denny Hamlin (5-1) and Kyle Busch (11-2) complete the top five 2021 Cook Out Southern 500 contenders. The race is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. ET. You'll want to check out the NASCAR at Darlington predictions from Micah Roberts, the legendary Vegas bookmaker who pioneered wagering on racing, before locking in any 2021 Cook Out Southern 500 picks.

Roberts is the nation's premier NASCAR betting expert, and his top pick, Chase Elliott, won the Jockey Made in America 250 in early July at 2-1 odds. He also correctly predicted the Coca-Cola 600 winner in the final event of May, hitting Larson's win at 11-2 odds. The previous week, he was on point at the EchoPark Texas Grand Prix, targeting Elliott as the winner at 8-5 odds.

He began a stretch of three winners in six races on Apr. 25, when he nailed Brad Keselowski's win in the GEICO 500 at 14-1 odds. Roberts correctly called the first two races of the 2020 season and also enjoyed success the previous year, as his top four choices in each race during the 2019 NASCAR campaign returned a head-turning $3,400 to those who put down $50 on each. Anyone who has followed his picks is up huge year after year.

Now, Roberts has analyzed the field and odds for Sunday's NASCAR at Darlington 2021 race. He's sharing his winner and leaderboard right here.

2021 NASCAR at Darlington expert predictions

One shocker: Roberts is low on Harvick, even though he's among the top 2021 Cook Out Southern 500 contenders. In fact, Roberts says Harvick, who won this race last year, barely even cracks the top 15.

"He hasn't been very good with the 750-horsepower package, recording only one top-five (finish) in 14 starts," Roberts told SportsLine. "He posted nine wins last year, but none in 2021."

Another curveball: Roberts is high on Alex Bowman, even though he's a 20-1 long shot in the latest 2021 NASCAR at Darlington odds. The 28-year-old is coming off a seventh-place finish at Daytona last Saturday, his 13th top-10 in 26 starts this season. Bowman was 17th at Darlington this past May, but posted a pair of top-10s on the track last year.

"Bowman's best finish at Darlington was the first of three races last season in which he was runner-up," Roberts told SportsLine. "He still has Hendrick (Motorsports) equipment, which makes him capable of winning."

How to make 2021 Cook Out Southern 500 picks

Roberts is high on a long shot who has "displayed the ability to respect 'The Lady in Black' while also getting sneaky-fast finishes." This driver is being underestimated by oddsmakers, and anyone who backs him could hit it big. You can only see who it is here.
