NASCAR thrives on speed, but one element the stock-car racing series can't overcome is rain. Wednesday's postponement of the 2020 Also Uniforms 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway pushed the race back one night, and it is rescheduled for 7 p.m. ET on Thursday. The coronavirus pandemic has NASCAR inverting the top 20 finishers from last Sunday's Coca-Cola 600 to make up the front of the starting grid, putting William Byron on the NASCAR at Charlotte pole and Alex Bowman starting alongside Byron in second.

The 2020 Also Uniforms 500 odds have Martin Truex Jr. at 4-1, with Chase Elliott at 5-1 and Kyle Busch at 7-1. Bowman is among the 2020 NASCAR at Charlotte contenders at 9-1, while Byron is 16-1. Developed by daily Fantasy pro and SportsLine predictive data engineer Mike McClure, this proprietary NASCAR prediction model simulates every race 10,000 times, taking into account factors such as track history and recent results.

The model began the 2020 NASCAR season by picking Denny Hamlin to win his second consecutive Daytona 500 at 10-1. It got off to a hot start on its NASCAR picks following the coronavirus hiatus as well, calling seven of the top 10 drivers at The Real Heroes 400 and the Toyota 500 at Darlington. Anybody who has followed it has seen huge returns.

Now, the model simulated the NASCAR at Charlotte 2020 race on Thursday, May 28 10,000 times. Head here to see the complete projected leaderboard.

Top 2020 Alsco Uniforms 500 predictions

For Thursday, the model is high on Joey Logano, even though he's a 12-1 long shot in the latest Charlotte NASCAR odds. He's a target for anyone looking for a huge payday. "Sliced Bread" won the 2018 points title and has 25 career victories, including the 2015 fall race. Logano also has two victories already this season, claiming the checkered flag at the Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas and FanShield 500 two weeks later in Phoenix.

Logano ran well at last weekend's Coca-Cola 600 before finishing 13th and is second in the NASCAR standings behind Kevin Harvick. Logano starts eighth on Thursday and figures to have his No. 22 Team Penske Ford near the lead all night. With 12 top-10 finishes at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Logano is a strong value bet in the 2020 Alsco Uniforms 500 lineup.

And a massive shocker: Brad Keselowski, Sunday's winner at Charlotte and one of the top-five favorites at 10-1, stumbles and finishes well outside the top five. While he was impressive on Sunday, Charlotte traditionally hasn't been his best track. He ranks seventh among active Cup Series drivers with an average finish position of 13.95.

He's also finished 15th or worse in three of his last five runs at this track. And with Sunday's win marking Keselowski's only top-three performance in 2020 thus far, the model has identified him as one of the 2020 NASCAR at Charlotte favorites to avoid on Thursday.

How to make 2020 Alsco Uniforms 500 picks

The model is also targeting three other drivers with NASCAR at Charlotte odds of 12-1 or longer to make a serious run at the checkered flag. Anyone who backs these drivers could hit it big.
