Ever since he picked up his first Cup Series win at Watkins Glen in 2018, Chase Elliott has become the unimpeachable master of road racing in NASCAR. And he added another chapter to his growing road course legend with a resounding Fourth of July triumph at one of America's most historic circuits.
After taking the lead at the beginning of the last long green flag run, Chase Elliott easily paced the field to win the Jockey Made in America 250 at Road America, picking up his second win of the 2021 season. The defending Cup Series Champion has now won two of the four road course races this season, as he previously won at Circuit of the Americas in May.
With his victory, Elliott has now become the third-winningest driver on road courses in NASCAR Cup Series history. Elliott now has seven road course wins, which breaks a tie for third with Bobby Allison, Richard Petty, Ricky Rudd, and Rusty Wallace.

"It was a hot day, but a lot of fun, man," Elliott told NBC Sports. "Just really proud of our team for overcoming some adversity early and having to start in the back. Had good pit stops, had a really fast Napa Chevrolet. Just so proud -- We've had a rough few weeks, so it feels really good."
Elliott came into Road America in a bit of a slump, as he had a disqualification at Nashville and a 27th place finish at Pocono bookmarking another run outside the top 10. Elliott then had to start 34th after being unable to put up a fast time in qualifying on Sunday morning.
Despite those challenges, Elliott would take command of the race on a restart with 17 to go, when he took the lead from Kyle Busch and proceeded to put the field well in his rearview mirror. Elliott was credited with leading 24 of 62 laps, and beat Christopher Bell at the finish by nearly six seconds.
With his second win of the season in the books, Elliott will now return to Georgia as the native conquering hero when the Cup Series makes its second stop of the year at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
