The red flag came out at the NASCAR Cup Series race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday as a crash on pit road halted the afternoon's action temporarily and injured a crew member from driver Ryan Blaney's team. The crash on pit road came during the competition caution on lap 16 of of the race. The NBC broadcast identified the member of the No. 12 team's pit crew as rear tire changer Zach Price. Price was changing tires on Blaney's car when the crash occurred.
Martin Truex, Ryan Blaney, Christopher Bell, Chris Buescher, Ryan Preece, Ricky Stenhouse, Justin Allgaier, and Brennan Poole were all involved in the crash, according to Matt Weaver of AutoWeek. You can see the scene below, via NASCAR:

While the crash was a scary sight, the good news is that Price appeared to be in decent shape afterwards, as he gave a thumbs up as he was loaded into an ambulance.

The red flag lasted a little over 11 minutes and then the race was able to get underway again. The race had already been delayed at the start due of a series of lightning strikes in the vicinity the track. Price will reportedly be treated for a leg injury.
