Allen Iverson says he's the biggest Russell Westbrook fan there is

Allen Iverson joined the Comcast SportsNet broadcast of the Philadelphia 76ers game agaist the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday. The Sixers great was asked what he sees in the players he likes, and he responded by referencing Oklahoma City Thunder fireball Russell Westbrook.

"The fight," Iverson said. "The fight in the guy. I'm the biggest Westbrook fan, I think, there is. You know what I mean? Because he reminds me so much of myself as far as his heart and laying it on the line night in and night out. Just a guy that's going to bring it every single night."

Now that's an appropriate comparison. It's not just the things he mentioned. Obviously Westbrook and Iverson have different games, but both are uncompromising. Iverson had endless critics because of his style of play, and his fans adored him even more for refusing to change it. The same can be said for Westbrook, who is still as aggressive as ever while almost breaking Wilt Chamberlain's All-Star scoring record and inserting himself into the MVP conversation. I'm sure he'll appreciate the compliment.

Also in the interview: Iverson said he'd like to have a role in the Sixers front office. That'd be something.
