Bennett joins Noel and Len on list of injured NBA prospects
Former UNLV standout Anthony Bennett will have rotator cuff surgery on his left shoulder Wednesday, a source has confirmed to CBSSports.com.
ESPN.com's Chad Ford first reported the news.
UNLV coach Dave Rice told CBSSports.com that Bennett injured the shoulder "prior to the Wyoming game on Feb. 23." The surgery is expected to force the one-and-done star to miss all workouts in advance of the NBA Draft, and the summer league, too. So now three consensus lottery picks will be sidelined with injuries before next month's draft. The other two are Kentucky's Nerlens Noel and Maryland's Alex Len. Noel, a shot-blocking big, could still go No. 1 overall.
Bennett averaged 16.1 points and 8.1 rebounds this past season.
The 6-foot-8 forward led UNLV to 25 wins and a trip to the NCAA tournament.
