Who's Playing

Atlanta @ Cleveland

Current Records: Atlanta 1-0; Cleveland 0-2

What to Know

The Cleveland Cavaliers are getting right back to it as they host the Atlanta Hawks at 6 p.m. ET Oct. 23 at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. Atlanta should still be riding high after a big win, while the Cavaliers will be looking to right the ship.

The matchup between Cleveland and the Charlotte Hornets on Friday was not a total blowout, but with Cleveland falling 123-112 at home, it was darn close to turning into one. A silver lining for Cleveland was the play of point guard Collin Sexton, who had 33 points.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Atlanta's strategy against the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday. The Hawks took their contest against Dallas by a conclusive 113-87 score. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Atlanta had established an 86-64 advantage. John Collins and Trae Young were among the main playmakers for Atlanta as the former had 16 points along with nine rebounds and the latter dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 dimes.

Cleveland is expected to lose this next one by 8. They have failed bettors playing the spread in all their past two games, so buyers beware.

Cleveland ended up a good deal behind the Hawks when they played when the two teams previously met in March, losing 100-82. Maybe the Cavaliers will have more luck at home instead of on the road? Watch the contest and check back on CBS Sports for all the details.
