Derrick Rose found not guilty of sexual assault in civil lawsuit

After over three hours of deliberation, the jury has come to a verdict in the civil lawsuit that has been brought against New York Knicks point guard Derrick Rose.

According to multiple reports, a jury of Rose's peers found the former NBA MVP not guilty of rape after multiple days of testimony from Rose, his co-defendants, the accuser as well as a number of friends and experts.

Rose's accuser and her legal team alleged that the Knicks star and two other men gang raped her and went on to sue the point guard for $21.5 million in damages.

With this trial now behind him, Rose will now return to New York and rejoin his Knicks teammates as they set their sights on the start of the 2016-17 regular season.
