Eye on Basketball Podcast: After the trade deadline
Zach Harper and Matt Moore break down the the flurry of minor trades that went down as the deadline expired and preview tonight's games.
With a flurry of minor trades at the trade deadline, Matt Moore and I break down all of the deals that happened Thursday. Was J.J. Redick getting traded from the Orlando Magic to the Milwaukee Bucks in a six-player swap really the big move of the trade deadline day? Why didn't the Indiana Pacers pursue Redick more aggressively? Did the Oklahoma City Thunder lose much by essentially swapping out Eric Maynor for Ronnie Brewer?
We also try to figure out why the Atlanta Hawks ended up sticking with Josh Smith instead of trading him off to a team like the Bucks. Do they plan on keeping him and offering him a lot of money? Also, why didn't the Utah Jazz trade Al Jefferson or Paul Millsap or both to alleviate the logjam inside?
We discuss all of that, plus we preview Thursday night's games and spend the majority of the time comparing each trade to a Jean-Claude Van Damme movie.
