Eye on Basketball Podcast: Don't let Steph shoot at the end
Zach Harper and Matt Moore discuss letting Stephen Curry take the final shot, the Chicago Bulls' long-term plan, and preview tonight's games.
Matt Moore joins me Thursday to discuss the end of the game between the Golden State Warriors and the Dallas Mavericks. Why would you ever allow Stephen Curry to go one-on-one at the end of a tied game? Should they have swarmed and forced the ball out of his hands at the risk of leaving an open shooter? Are the Warriors looking like a top 3 team in the West again or do they have to worry about injuries all season? At what point do you stop worrying about Curry's ankles?
In trying to look at long-term planning for certain teams, we're wondering if we might see the Chicago Bulls start trying to move Luol Deng soon. Are the Bulls going to just wait for Derrick Rose to return next season and try to be title contenders again? Or will they start shipping off guys like Deng to acquire assets and give a smart rebuild with Rose as the centerpiece? Why wouldn't they just spend for one big season? Should they keep Deng and acquire as many weapons as possible?
We discuss all of this, plus letting teams play through adversity, the Knicks moving more, and preview tonight's games.
