Eye on Basketball Podcast: Grizzlies and Rockets offseasons

After technical difficulties that kept us from recording a podcast yesterday, Matt Moore joins me today to fit two podcasts into one. We're discussing both the offseason reports for the Houston Rockets and the Memphis Grizzlies. We start with the Grizzlies and try to figure out why Matt is so optimistic about what they've done this offseason. Did they upgrade depth at needed positions like center and point guard? Would you trust Nick Calathes or Tony Wroten with your backup point guard duties? Is there enough firepower on this team to make it back to the Western Conference Finals?

Then we get into the major changes we saw with the Houston Rockets this summer. Signing Dwight Howard was obviously the big get of the summer, but how much of a contending team can they be as currently constructed? Whom would you start at power forward next to Dwight? What do you do with Jeremy Lin and Omer Asik? Would you trade Asik and a great contract/role player like Chandler Parsons if it meant you were getting LaMarcus Aldridge?

We discuss all of this, plus the new Rose Garden name, Nikola Pekovic's contract, and August SEO happenings.
