Eye on Basketball Podcast: Tastefully done

I'm stuck in a snow storm in New York City so we might as well podcast, right? Matt Moore joins me a day after our live midseason show and our midseason reports to talk about the league at the halfway point. We start off by going over the idea that the Miami Heat can't finish ahead of the Indiana Pacers this season because Dwyane Wade is sitting out games and the Heat are kind of coasting at the moment. They may just prepare for the playoffs and not worry about home court advantage. What does this mean for the Eastern Conference finals? Are the Heat in trouble?

Next we check in on the Western Conference playoff push. Would maybe the Minnesota Timberwolves benefit from moving Nikola Pekovic for a rim protector? Is a rim protector more important than better pick-and-roll defense? Are the Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns in danger of falling out of the West playoffs? Are the Memphis Grizzlies a model for the Wolves trying to click? With Danilo Gallinari out for the season, are the Denver Nuggets better off not trying to figure out how to work him back in-season?

We discuss all of this, plus the 2014 NBA Draft, tattoo bets NBA fans shouldn't make, and preview tonight's games.
