It took Ty Lawson a little over a year, but he finally ended up in Sacramento.
The Kings have signed Lawson to a one-year deal, according to The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski. Lawson confirmed the news himself via Twitter.

A year ago, Lawson speculated that he would be playing for his former coach George Karl in Sacramento after the Nuggets selected Emmanuel Mudiay in the 2015 NBA Draft. He instead was traded to the Houston Rockets, where despite it seeming like a good fit on paper, Lawson never meshed well with James Harden and went from being a starter to a rarely reserve player. Then after just a half a season in Houston, the Rockets waived Lawson and he signed with the Indiana Pacers for the rest of the season.
Lawson played much better in Indiana, but overall last season was a big step back for him. He shot a career-low 39.3 percent and 33.3 percent from three, and averaged 5.7 points (another career-low) and 3.6 assists in 21.4 minutes per game.
Lawson's poor play last season and his DUI-filled past definitely has an impact on his free agency this summer, as it took him basically until the end of the summer to find a team willing to sign him.
Lawson should have a chance in Sacramento though to prove that he could be a solid NBA player again as the Kings desperately needed a backup point guard. If he is able to impress in the consistent minutes he will likely receive, Lawson could end up being one of the steals in free agency this summer. If not, then it would not be surprising to see Lawson to be out of the league in a year.
