The Kings announced Wednesday starting center DeMarcus Cousins will be out through the weekend as he recovers from a viral infection.

Cousins, who has missed the last three games, underwent further evaluation Tuesday. Team physicians, led by Dr. Jason Brayley, admitted Cousins to the hospital for treatment and rest. He is improving and expected to make a full recovery.

The Kings are expecting Cousins to return to action next week. He will miss Friday's game vs. Indiana and Saturday's game vs. Orlando.

The fifth-year center leads the NBA in rebounding, averaging 12.6 boards per game. He is also averaging a career-high 23.5 points per game, while shooting 51.2 percent from the field.
