Lakers' Thomas Robinson making a big impression on Luke Walton

The Los Angeles Lakers still have plenty of tough decisions to make before their roster for the 2016-17 regular season is finalized and one player is doing everything that he can to make an impression on first-year head coach Luke Walton.

Following the Lakers 112-107 loss to the Golden State Warriors in Las Vegas on Saturday night, Walton went out of his way to praise the job that former lottery pick Thomas Robinson has done during training camp.

“He never takes plays off,” Lakers coach Luke Walton said to Mark Medina of the Orange County Register. “He’s a great guy. You want him around. He’s a monster on the offensive glass and has a great attitude with everything we’ve done.”

While Walton's praise isn't an indication that Robinson will make the team, he's battling Metta World Peace and Yi Jianlian for the final spot on the roster, it seems pretty clear that the athletic power forward is going to do everything that he can to make Walton's decision as difficult as possible.

Robinson has made four appearances for Los Angeles during the preseason and is averaging 4.0 points to go along with 3.5 rebounds in eight minutes per game.
