Through 3 Quarters

Both the San Antonio Spurs and the Los Angeles Lakers have kept the scorekeepers busy with 201 between them three quarters in. The Spurs have unwrapped a big 107-94 lead against Los Angeles.

San Antonio has been relying on small forward Keita Bates-Diop, who has 21 points along with six boards, and shooting guard Derrick White, who has 18 points and six assists in addition to two blocks.

The Lakers have been led by small forward LeBron James, who so far has 33 points and four assists in addition to seven rebounds. LBJ's night has made it three games in a row with at least 31 points.

What to Know

The Los Angeles Lakers will play host again and welcome the San Antonio Spurs to Staples Center, where tip-off is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET on Thursday. San Antonio will be strutting in after a victory while the Lakers will be stumbling in from a defeat.

The game between Los Angeles and the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday was not particularly close, with Los Angeles falling 108-90. Small forward Talen Horton-Tucker had a memorable game, but not in the way you want to be remembered: he finished with only three points on 1-for-13 shooting in his 31 minutes on the court.

Meanwhile, San Antonio was expected to lose against the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday, but instead they received a nice stocking stuffer. Everything went San Antonio's way against Los Angeles as they made off with a 116-92 win. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point San Antonio had established a 92-65 advantage. It was another big night for their point guard Dejounte Murray, who posted a triple-double on 24 points, 13 assists, and 12 rebounds.

Barring any buzzer beaters, the Lakers are expected to win a tight contest. Their home court has been no bettor's paradise, though, as they've failed to beat the spread in 12 of their 18 home games.

Los Angeles was able to grind out a solid win over San Antonio in the teams' previous meeting last month, winning 114-106. Will Los Angeles repeat their success, or do the Spurs have a better game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
