After being named the NBA's Most Valuable Player for the 2016-17 season on Monday night, Thunder guard Russell Westbrook was brought to tears going down the list of people to thank in his speech.

Westbrook, most known for his ice-cold scowl on the basketball court, showed a rare side of him NBA fans haven't seen. And not a dry eye was in the house by the time he was finished.

"My parents, man, you guys did any and everything to make sure me and my brother had anything we wanted. I told myself I wasn't going to cry," Westbrook said as he choked up. "I can't say thank you enough. You guys sacrificed everything in your life ... I couldn't be able to do none of this without you guys. I can't say thank you enough."

Westbrook become the second player to ever finish an NBA season averaging a triple double. He edged James Harden and Kawhi Leonard for the honors. The OKC superstar averaged 31.6 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 10.4 assists while leading the league in scoring.
