Weekend Results: Don't call it a comeback!

18-7 YTD: 23-20-3.

LOCK IT UP:

GAME: Celtics at Grizzlies
FAVORITE: Grizzlies (-11)

PICK: Grizzlies cover

The worst team in basetball (right now) on a road back to back. A team that struggles to score on the road vs. historically a dominant defense. A Grizzlies team that's pissed off and embarrassed about a 1-2 start with two division losses.

Also, the Celtics had a great chance at a cover Sunday night in Detroit, and still found a way to take +9. The Grizzlies are shakey, but you have to think they're ready to take some frustratoin out on the spiraling Celtics.

DANGER WILL ROBINSON, DANGER

GAME: Rockets at Clippers
FAVORITE:
 Clippers (-5)
PICK: STAY AWAY!

Houston's now 2-1 vs. our book, 3-0 vs. others, and is getting better every game. The Clippers have been uneven and have looked vulnerable. But they did shine vs. the Warriors at home, and the Rockets are on a road trip. Way too many points of vulnerability on both sides to feel good either way about this one.

WEIRD SCIENCE

GAME: Warriors at 76ers
FAVORITE:
 Warriors (-7)
PICK: Warriors cover... right?

What a fascinating line. The hottest team in the league who has knocked off the defending champs and their biggest challenger in Chicago, vs. the West's darlings who have a loss but can also overwhelm teams with their shooting. It's low enough to tempt you, high enough to scare you away.

I've Got A Bad Feeling About This

GAME: Timberwolves at Cavaliers
FAVORITE:
 Cavs (-2)
PICK:  Wolves win outright.

This could be phenomenally stupid, since the Wolves are on a road-and-road back-to-back after walloping the Knicks Sunday. But Cleveland's just been way too uneven since their opening night win vs. the Nets. The Cavs have the second best defense in points per possession via NBA.com early in the season, but the 30th-ranked offense. Meanwhile the Wolves are 8th in offense and defense.

I'm choosing to stay behind the Wolves since it's early for the rest factor to start killing them, but it basically comes down to what factor you think is most important, the Cavs' great defense, the back-to-back, or the Wolves' offense.
