NBA Free Agency: Rockets reportedly sign veteran big man Luc Mbah a Moute
The veteran forward spent the past two seasons in Los Angeles with the Clippers
The Houston Rockets' busy summer continued on Sunday afternoon.
Free-agent combo forward Luc Mbah a Moute has agreed to sign with the Houston Rockets, league sources tell ESPN.
It is believed to be a one-year, veteran minimum arrangement.
Mbah a Moute spent the past two seasons in Los Angeles with the Clippers, and last season started 76 games, averaging 6.1 points and 2.1 rebounds a night.
Stats aren't really Mbah a Moute's thing, though, as he's made a living in the NBA due to his capabilities on the defensive end, where his length and athleticism allows him to guard multiple positions. He has received praise from his coaches and teammates wherever he has played, with Jamal Crawford even saying not too long ago that LRMAM is the "best perimeter defender."
Adding Mbah a Moute is another nice pickup for the Rockets, as he, along with P.J. Tucker, who the team added earlier this summer, should vastly improve the Rockets' defense, which finished 18th in the league last season with a defensive rating of 106.4.
