NBA Free Agency Rumors: J.J. Redick reportedly won't re-sign with the Clippers
Is this the start of a new era for the Clippers?
When Chris Paul and Blake Griffin informed the Los Angeles Clippers last week that they intended to opt out of the final year of their contracts in order to become free agents, it seemed to foreshadow the end of an era at Staples Center, and Wednesday morning the bells tolled for Lob City.
What that means for Blake Griffin's future in Los Angeles remains to be seen, but as for the Clippers' third key free agent, J.J. Redick, the CP3 trade made certain that he will leave town. ESPN's Brian Windhorst was on SportsCenter after the Paul trade went down, and said, of Redick:
"I haven't even mentioned the name JJ Redick. JJ Redick is walking. He is not gonna be back. That was the worst kept secret in the NBA for the last couple of months."
Despite just turning 33 years old, Redick will likely have a number of suitors for his services, as he's one of the league's top 3-point specialists, hitting over 42 percent of his attempts from downtown last season, which was good for sixth in the league.
Two of the teams already, though it will be interesting to see if Redick is interested in joining a rebuilding project this late in his career.
