Ahead of Friday night's Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals, the finalists for various end-of-season awards were announced. While these awards are usually handed out during the playoffs, instead the NBA is having an awards show after the season for the first time. The event, which will be hosted by Drake, will take place on June 26.

First up, on Friday night, was the announcement of the finalists for Most Improved Player. No surprises here, as the the trio are three of the game's brightest young stars.

Your finalists for Most Improved Player: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Jokic, and Rudy Gobert

Congratulations to these three, who were all phenomenal this year. Giannis became the first player to finish in the top 20 of all major stat categories, Gobert staked his claim as the best big man alive, and Jokic awed fans with his spectacular passing ability and all-around creativity.

On Thursday, Anetokounmpo and Gobert were both named to Second Team All-NBA, and Gobert is a candidate for the Defensive Player of the Year award.
