The Cavaliers are not going to buy out Tristan Thompson's contract, according to the Athletic's David Aldridge. Contenders seeking a potentially high-impact, low-price big man -- Celtics, Rockets -- will have to look elsewhere. Thompson will enter free agency this summer.

According to Marc Stein of the New York Times, the Los Angeles Lakers are going to give guard JR Smith an audition. In addition, Darren Collison is expected to sign with the team if he chooses to make an NBA comeback.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowki, Isaiah Thomas is back in Los Angeles -- but on a different team this time around. Thomas is reportedly joining the Clippers in the deal they made for Marcus Morris. That trade includes Jerome Robinson to the Wizards, with Moe Harkless and a 2020 first-round pick going to the Knicks, according to Wojnarowski. Thomas played for the Lakers in 2017-18.

The Bulls won't be joining the trade-deadline action, according to NBC Sports' K.C. Johnson. Johnson reported Chicago has "no trade calls lined up" with 3 p.m. minutes away.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Pistons will also receive a future second round pick in the Andre Drummond deal. Still, it looks like a salary dump for the Pistons. Drummond does have a player option this summer.

The Cavaliers are trading for center Andre Drummond, according to the Athletic's Shams Charania. The Ringer's Kevin O'Connor reported Brandon Knight, John Henson and a second-round pick will go to Detroit in the deal. Drummond is in the third year of a five-year, $127 million contract. He has a player option for next season. Cleveland now has a logjammed frontcourt featuring Drummond, Tristan Thompson and Kevin Love.
