The Nets announced Friday that Mirza Teletovic was diagnosed with bilateral pulmonary embolus, per the team's official website. Teletovic will begin treatment, which includes blood thinners. He will be lost for the remainder of the season.
Teletovic was taken to the hospital during Thursday's game against the Clippers after experiencing shortness of breath. He underwent a series of tests including a CT scan, which revealed multiple blood clots on the lungs.
The third-year forward will finish the season with averages of 8.5 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 22.3 minutes through 40 contests.
