Nets PF Blatche questioned in alleged sexual assault case

Update 2:57 p.m.: Philadelphia police commissioner Charles Ramsey told reporters Monday afternoon that authorities questioned Andray Blatche regarding a possible sexual assault at an upscale hotel that was reported early Tuesday morning, but the Brooklyn Nets forward   was not involved with the incident. Update 2:40 p.m.: From the AP: 

Philadelphia police are investigating a possible sexual assault at an upscale hotel, and the Brooklyn Nets say the probe involves one of the team's players.

Officer Jillian Russell, a police spokeswoman, says the assault reportedly happened around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday in a room at the Four Seasons Hotel. Police are investigating, and Russell says no one has been charged.

The Nets say the investigation involves a member of their team, which plays at Philadelphia on Tuesday night. General Manager Billy King says the team will have no further comment until the investigation is concluded and that all of the team's players will be available for Tuesday's game against the Sixers.

On Tuesday, Nets forward Andray Blatche wrote about the incident on Twitter.

"Im ok and I didn't do anything jus was n the area when it happened," Blatche tweeted.

He later took down the tweet, and eventually posted: "Gettin ready for the game."

Police tell WCAU-TV that a 21-year-old woman was taken from the hotel to a local hospital.

CBS Philly is reporting police sources have confirmed a member of the Brooklyn Nets and his associates are being questioned about an alleged sexual assault that is said to have happened in a Philadelphia hotel early Tuesday. The Nets are in Philadelphia, where they will play the 76ers on Tuesday night.

Police sources have confirmed that a member of the Brooklyn Nets basketball team and his associates are being questioned in connection with a sexual assault that allegedly happened inside a Philadelphia hotel.

According to sources, a 21-year-old female filed a complaint alleging that she was sexually assaulted inside the Four Seasons Hotel in Center City at about 4 a.m. Tuesday.

Nets general manager Billy King issued the following statement:

"We are aware of the ongoing police investigation regarding a member of the Brooklyn Nets. We will have no further comment until the investigation has concluded. All of our players are available for tonight's game."

This is a developing story, and authorities have not yet identified the player. No charges have been pressed. The Nets are in Philadelphia to play the Sixers on Tuesday night.
