Nightly Grades: The 76ers do it again, and the Nets apparently stink

Each night, Eye on Basketball brings you what you need to know about the games of the NBA. From great performances to terrible clock management the report card evaluates and eviscerates the good, the bad, and the ugly from the night that was.

A The Philadelphia 76ers are now 5-4 and while they beat the Houston Rockets without James Harden , they still beat Dwight Howard , Jeremy Lin and Chandler Parsons . They did it behind 36 points from James Anderson -- on 12-16 shooting including 6-8 from 3 -- and a triple-double from Tony Wroten -- 18 points, 11 assists, 10 rebounds -- who made his first career start in place of Michael Carter-Williams . If you're into NBA statlines, this game had all of them.
A Arron Afflalo : 36 points on 11-15 shooting including 8-11 from 3. That's a pretty good game. And his Orlando Magic beat the Milwaukee Bucks , 94-91.
A Ricky Rubio with a career-high 16 assists, Kevin Love with 33 points and eight rebounds as the Minnesota Timberwolves absolutely steamrolled the Cleveland Cavaliers , 124-95. An offensive clinic from start to finish as the Wolves piled up 70 points by halftime and cruised to the finish line from there.
A Jazz win! Jazz win! The last team to get in the win column, the Jazz beat the Pelicans to improve to 1-8.
B Every win feels like it's a good one right now for the New York Knicks , especially without Tyson Chandler . They used a big 15-0 run in the second half to take control against the Atlanta Hawks and held them off late, 95-91. Carmelo Anthony was solid, Andrea Bargnani was good and the Knicks' defense held up well, locking down in the fourth quarter. It wasn't all pretty, though, as evidenced by their 10-point third quarter.
C Losing to the 76ers isn't great, but with Harden out, Linsanity returned and was almost enough. Jeremy Lin dropped 34 points, and hit 9-15 from 3, with 12 assists. Bad loss and he had eight turnovers, but still, great game.
F It's not time to panic in Memphis, but it certainly is a good time to shift uncomfortably in your seat. A disheartening 103-87 loss to the Toronto Raptors and really, the Memphis Grizzlies just got worked over for 48 minutes. The defense isn't there, and the offense is just far too inconsistent to keep them in games.
F The Knicks have grabbed most of the attention in New York for being average, but the Nets are looking downright bad. They fell to 2-5 with a 107-86 blowout loss to the Kings, who were 1-5 coming in. Yikes.
F Mike Brown has always been said to be a defensive coach but woo boy did the Cavs stink on that end tonight against the Wolves. They allowed 124 points and had Rick Adelman not called off the dogs, 150 probably would've been within reach.
