Photo: Knicks' Carmelo Anthony looks like he's lost a lot of weight
New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony has a fatter wallet this summer but decided to shed a lot of weight.
There has been so much attention in the dull days of August dedicated toward how much weight Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James has shed this offseason. It may be time to point that attention toward New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony as well. In the photos above and below, you can see a trimmed down Anthony who seems to have made dramatic changes to his body shape.
In the Instagram photo above, you see Carmelo at a side angle in which it looks like he lost a good 15-20 lbs. from his frame. His stomach and waist are very slimmed down. Anthony just signed a five-year, $124 million deal to stay with the Knicks and it looks like he's not taking the responsibility of being the star of Phil Jackson's Knicks vision lightly. Here's more of a straight-on shot from his Instagram account four days ago:
Melo's shirt looks a little baggy in that photo, despite clinging to his torso from the sweat. We'll probably get a lot of "Carmelo is in the best shape of his life" going into the Knicks' preseason because we get a lot of that with lots of players every season. This one may actually be legitimate because Anthony appears to be the thinnest we've seen him since maybe his high school days.
Look at a photo from him at the end of last season. Anthony's lighter frame could lead to an even better individual season out of him.
