Chicago Bulls guard Michael Carter-Williams will miss three to four weeks because of a bone bruise in his left knee, according to ESPN's Jeff Goodman. Carter-Williams suffered the injury on a hard fall against the Brooklyn Nets on Monday. He also reportedly sprained his left wrist.

Knee injuries are always worrisome, so the fact it's just a bone bruise is a relatively good thing for the Bulls. Carter-Williams, who was acquired from the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for swingman Tony Snell during the preseason, has been Rajon Rondo's primary backup at point guard. As he tries to find a rhythm with his new team, this is a significant setback.
Carter-Williams' absence will open up more time for Isaiah Canaan, who had 15 points and six assists in 22 minutes in Chicago's 118-88 win in Brooklyn. It could also give rookie Denzel Valentine an opportunity to crack the rotation. Valentine has played only in garbage time so far.
