Report: LaVar Ball wants Lonzo's Big Baller Brand sneaker to cost in the $200 tier
LaVar Ball is crafting sneakers that might be more expensive than Kevin Durant's signature shoe

Nike, Adidas and Under Armour have all reportedly passed on endorsing Lonzo Ball in part because of his father, LaVar. And even though he's been passed over by some of the most well-known NBA endorsers, Ball isn't calling it quits on seeking a business partner for the Big Baller Brand -- the family business that deals pricey merchandise, and apparel. The brand is also developing shoes for Lonzo, who is expected to be a lottery pick in the upcoming NBA draft.
According to a report from The Vertical, Ball is targeting the $200 tier for its debut Big Baller Brand basketball sneakers, which have been in development over the past year with business associate Alan Foster.
Yes, $200.
That's a higher price tag than Kevin Durant's most expensive KD9's, listed at $195, and just a tick cheaper than LeBron James' most expensive basketball shoes, which are listed at $220 on most websites that deal his sneakers -- including Nike's website.
As Nick DePaula of The Vertical notes, Lonzo Ball could become the first potential top-five pick to not reach an endorsement deal with a footwear brand if they don't strike a deal and he instead opts to wear the Big Baller Brand sneaker on its own. And LaVar's push to co-brand BBB with other companies has undoubtedly "stifled" interest for Lonzo on the market.
Original reports indicated that Adidas, Nike and Under Armour had passed on Ball. However, the report suggests a deal with Adidas could potentially be done and the chance for it happening is "not dead yet," with a meeting potentially to take place in the coming weeks.
