Report: Pacers 'pushing' to sign C.J. Miles
Indiana reportedly is trying to add swingman C.J. Miles to its roster.
In pursuit of shooting, Pacers pushing to use $2.1M exception on free agent guard C.J. Miles, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojYahooNBA) July 1, 2014
Miles, a 27-year-old swingman, shot 39 percent from downtown last season with the Cleveland Cavaliers, and averaged 9.9 points in 19.3 minutes per game. The nine-year vet spent his whole career in Utah before signing in Cleveland two years ago.
As a rotation player on a playoff team, Miles is a great value signing. He'll space the floor. He won't demand the ball or waste possessions. Indiana will be improved if he winds up going there, but the Pacers also need some guys who can create easier opportunities for teammates.
