Spurs' Boris Diaw (back) out 3-4 weeks

The Spurs' top focus isn't actually winning the West's top overall seed. It's getting healthy.

And they're not doing a great job of the latter.

Gregg Popovich told reporters pregame in Denver on Wednesday that forward Boris Diaw would miss the next 2-3 weeks because of a back problem. But the team announced on Friday that Diaw had surgery to remove a cyst from his lumbar spine and will miss 3-4 weeks.

Diaw, who has started 20 games this season and appeared in 75, has been a key part of San Antonio's frontcourt depth. Returning in two weeks would have him likely missing a game or two of the Spurs' first-round playoff series while three weeks could have him sitting most of the series.

Already hampered by injuries for San Antonio is Manu Ginobili (hamstring) and Tony Parker (neck).

Diaw, 30, is averaging 5.8 points and 3.4 rebounds this season.
