Tony Parker is without question the greatest player in French national team history. It's not particularly close. There have been some good NBA players to come out of France through the years, but Parker, a former Finals MVP and absolutely incredible point guard historically, is the cream of the crop.

He added another feather in his cap on Monday as he became the all-time leading scorer in EuroBasket, the annual international tournament.

And FIBA was there to celebrate it with a slightly 80s-style graphic:

When Parker is inevitably up for the Hall of Fame, one of the surefire reasons he'll make it, and a reason he has an argument for first-ballot, will be his international career. Parker's done as much for basketball in his country as any player historically, and his love of the nation and the program is why he continues to play, despite impacts on his health.

We're less than 60 days from the start of the season, yet there's Parker diving to the floor on layup attempts vs. Poland in group play. It has to make Spurs management nervous, but they also know they can't have an international culture without embracing their guys' love of their national teams. Let's just hope Parker can stay healthy through the tournament. France defeated Poland on Monday after a missed Marcin Gortat 3-point attempt for the tie at the end of regulation.
