Basically a fanatic, San Antonio Spurs forward Tim Duncan absolutely loves Marvel's The Punisher. Duncan has previously played with a knee brace that has the Punisher's logo on it, he's appeared in an actual issue of the comic, and last year, his auto shop, BlackJack Speed Shop, built a custom Punisher-themed car

The car was based on Duncan's comic book appearance which featured the Punisher having the Spurs forward's auto shop create a custom vehicle for the Marvel super hero. BlackJack Speed Shop created an exact replica of the car and later put it up for raffle with the proceeds going to charity.

After raising $60,000 for Childsafe, a San Antonio-based organization that "helps children who have suffered from child abuse," the car was given to the lucky raffle winner before Monday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

From a Spurs press release:

The Tim Duncan Foundation, along with BlackJack Speed Shop, today announced that they are donating $60,000 to Childsafe, a local organization that helps children who have suffered from child abuse. The donation was generated through the raffle of a one-of-a-kind “The Punisher”-themed 2013 Dodge Challenger R/T, which will be deeded over to raffle winner Vicky Mills before tonight’s San Antonio Spurs vs. Minnesota Timberwolves game.

The 2013 Dodge Challenger R/T was donated to the Tim Duncan Foundation by GUNN Automotive Group and turned over to BlackJack Speed Shop for customization.  The vehicle includes a full custom wrap, custom-built crash bars and LED lights.  The dash of the vehicle is signed by Duncan, “The Punisher” publisher Stan Lee and artist Mike Choi. The car, along with Duncan were featured on the cover of “The Punisher” comic book in 2012.

While it is sad to know that Duncan himself won't be cruising around the streets of San Antonio in his Punisher-themed car, it is good to know that the proceeds of its sale are going to a great cause.
