Los Angeles Clippers All-Star forward Blake Griffin left Game 5 against the MemphisGrizzlies with an apparent left knee injury during the third quarter.
Griffin went down on the baseline after landing awkwardly as he completed a driving shot attempt against Grizzlies center Marc Gasol. He clutched his left knee and walked to the Clippers bench before quickly returning to the game.
The Clippers announced during the fourth quarter that Griffin suffered a hyperflexed left knee and that his return to the game was "questionable" but he returned again minutes later.
The Grizzlies went on to win, 92-80, to narrow L.A.'s series lead to 3-2.
L.A. also lost guard Chris Paul with a groin injury.
After the game, Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro said he expected both would be ready to go for Game 6, set for Friday night in Los Angeles.
"I expect them both to be fine," he said. "They were both able to go back in the game. They are going to be sore and injured and they are going to have to fight through it as best they can."
Griffin finished with 15 points, 11 rebounds and 3 steals on 6-for-11 shooting in 34 minutes.
