VIDEO: Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union's Save-The-Date
Heat star to be married this fall in secretive ceremony features adorable save-the-date video.
Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union are getting hitched in the near future, and TMZ grabbed their Save the Date video, which thankfully contains no details about when or where the wedding is. (Note: the couple has also gone full-on intense with wedding security. No cameras, no phones, just a location where guests will be picked up and then taken to the location of the wedding. "The lives and most personal moments of celebrities are sadly constantly under seige," he wrote in a post about their save-the-date.)
Why is this relevant, at all? Well, for one thing, it's adorable. Two, Wade's inclusion of his kids in the process is kind of an interesting sign into his life. Wade has made a really big deal out of being a father. Despite leaving the mother of his kids in a messy, messy split, Wade made keeping custody of his two sons a huge part of his life. He wrote a book on fatherhood. Wade's family may not be traditional, but it is strong.
Also, and I felt this way when Amar'e Stoudemire pulled the same thing in his proposal by filming it, I wonder how authentic it had to be. Keeping it a secret from the person you're proposing to is difficult. I would imagine "Hey, no big deal, they're just shooting some footage in our house while I'm wearing this outfit" is kind of a hard thing to ignore. Then again, it's Gabrielle Union. Maybe she's used to that kind of thing.
