Video: Kevin Garnett responds to Hawks owner that called him dirty

Kevin Garnett had two things he wanted to make clear following Game 6 against the Hawks: 1) He's not dirty and 2) Calling him old just motivates him.

Atlanta Hawks owner Michael Gearon Jr. said in advance of Game 6 that Garnett is "the dirtiest guy in the league." Garnett took great exception to that after the Celtics eliminated the Hawks.

"First off I want to say thank you to their owner for giving me some extra gas tonight," Garnett said. "My only advice to him is that next time he opens his mouth is to actually know what he's talking about."

"We're not dirty. We're firm," Garnett said. "We play aggressive. But we're not dirty. You have to understand the word dirty is very defined. Going under guys, trying to hurt guys, ill intent. It's not the way you play basketball. We play very respectable to the opponent, to the city we're in, to the game. We play with a lot of passion, with a lot of force. It's the playoff."

Garnett also said that anyone calling him old just makes him more motivated saying he "takes his craft very seriously." He then noted that some of the reporters in the room were old as well.

"It does come off as disrespectful at times," he said of being called old. "Whoever's writing the old comments, keep doing that. I appreciate that. I don't read your column, but it gets back to me. It's all good, all good. Some of y'all 30 in here too. Losing your hair. 40, 50, 60."
