VIDEO: Shannon Brown slips in scary dunk contest fail
Dunk contests are supposed to be fun and safe entertainment for both the players and their props. Shannon Brown's scary attempt at a recent dunk contest in Latvia was neither fun nor safe.

In terms of dunk contest standards, Suns guard Shannon Brown’s recent dunk attempt at a promotional event in Latvia didn’t appear to be an earth-shattering jam, at least from the set up.
That was assuming, of course, that he had actually finished the dunk over three fans laying parallel to the baseline, nowhere near the free throw line.
But things didn’t go well for Brown, as he hesitated before the three-point line, chopped his steps, tried to elevate off his left foot and instead, skidded awkwardly backwards, somehow avoiding an awful injury.
I'm sure first-year Suns coach Jeff Hornacek is thrilled to see that.
