VIDEO: Tyreke Evans leaves game with ankle inury
Pelicans guard suffers ankle injury, X-rays negative. Will have MRI scheduled.
Pelicans guard Tyreke Evans made his debut with New Orleans on Saturday night. It was short lived. The former Kings wing left the game with an ankle injury. X-rays were negative, per the team, but he'll likely have an MRI to determine any structural damage.
Evans had seven points on 3-of-5 shooting before the injury, along with two rebounds. Tom Ziller of SacTown Royalty noted about Evans:
The thing about Tyreke Evans is that he comes up gingerly *a lot*. Usually fine. Tough dude.— Tom Ziller (@teamziller) October 6, 2013
Still, it has to concern the Pelicans when their $44 million free agent acquisition goes down in the first preseason game.
