WATCH: Knicks fandom reaches new heights in 'Porzingod'
Two die-hard Knicks fans created a short film where the premise is that Kristaps Porzingis is a literal God.
When he was selected No. 4 overall in the 2015 NBA Draft, Kristaps Porzingis was loudly booed by New York Knicks fans. But once he started playing, Knicks fans changed their tune and began to fall in love with Porzingis, quickly proclaiming him as the franchise savior that could lead the team to success for years to come.
That fandom has now gone to an even higher level as brothers Tyler and Conor Byrne (die-hard Knicks fans) created a short film called “Porzingod,” a short film that deifies Porzingis. The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and stars John Leguizamo.
Although the premise is hilarious, the film is extremely well done. And it shows that Knicks fans are really counting on Porzingis to lead them to the promised land of an NBA championship.
