Remember that time Taylor Swift taught Russell Westbrook how to play basketball? How she taught him to dribble and shoot long ago? No? Neither does she. But that didn't stop her from sending out a congratulatory video to the NBA's Most Valuable Player on Monday night following the NBA Awards show.
"So that's why I'm part of your congratulations video," Swift joked. "Because we go back like 20 years. Actually, we've never met and that's sad. That's a fake story. But I wish it were the truth. You're amazing. You're the MVP. I am so happy for you."
Although Swift and Westbrook have never met, the two have mutually admired one another from afar, with Westbrook jamming to some T-Swift two years ago in a video that went viral. Maybe Swift's awkward congratulatory video in which she credited him for the origination of her song "Shake it Off" will finally spur a face-to-face meeting with the two superstars.
