MarShon Brooks: Finds home in China
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brooks officially signed a contract Wednesday with the Guangdong Southern Tigers of the Chinese Basketball Association.

Guangdong announced the addition of another American in Michael Beasley to the roster in what marks his third stint and Brooks' second in the CBA. Brooks had averaged 6.6 points and 1.6 rebounds in 13.3 minutes per game across 29 appearances for the Grizzlies this season before being traded to the Bulls in January and waived shortly thereafter.

MarShon Brooks: Will be released Monday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Bulls will waive Brooks on Monday, K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Chicago has an agreement in place to acquire point guard Michael Carter-Williams from the Rockets, so once that trade is confirmed by the league office, Brooks will be cut to open up a spot on the 15-man roster. Carter-Williams will then be released prior to Monday's 5 p.m. EST deadline for all contracts to become guaranteed for 2018-19. It's not surprising that the non-contending Bulls aren't eager to retain either Brooks or Carter-Williams, two low-upside veterans who weren't going to be factors in the team's rebuilding efforts. Once he's cut loose, Brooks will look to find work for another team in need of a bench scorer.

Bulls' MarShon Brooks: Likely to be moved
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brooks has not reported to the Bulls and will likely be moved, Mark Strotman of NBC Sports Chicago reports.

Brooks was essentially a throw-in in the deal that sent Justin Holiday to Memphis, and he's yet to report to Chicago as of Saturday morning. Judging from this report, it doesn't sound as though the Bulls expect to keep Brooks around, and the two sides will work toward a resolution. That could mean finding another home for Brooks via trade, or simply waiving him.

Bulls' MarShon Brooks: Inactive Friday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brooks (coach's decision) won't play Friday against the Pacers, J. Michael of The Indianapolis Star reports.

There were rumors following Thursday night's trade that Brooks wouldn't take the court with his new team, although it remains to be seen whether the Bulls will trade him. Wayne Selden, who was also a part of the deal, is inactive as well Friday night.

Bulls' MarShon Brooks: Looking for new team
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Bulls intend to trade newly-acquired MarShon Brooks, Sam Amico of reports.

Brooks and Wayne Selden were dealt to Chicago from the Grizzlies on Thursday, and it appears as though Brooks will not even play for his new team. The Bulls are currently seeking a new team for the Providence product.

Bulls' MarShon Brooks: Dealt to Chicago
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brooks and Wayne Selden were traded from the Grizzlies to the Bulls on Thursday in exchange for Justin Holiday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Chicago will also receive two second-round picks.

Brooks appears to have been on Memphis' trading block for quite some time, as he was nearly dealt to the Suns in mid-December before the deal fell through. He hasn't seen much playing time with the Grizzlies of late, appearing in just two of his team's previous seven contests. Brooks figures to serve as a role player with his new squad.

Grizzlies' MarShon Brooks: Miscommunication kills trade
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brooks will remain on the Grizzlies after a three-team deal that would have sent him to the Suns fell through, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Memphis and Phoenix weren't on the same page in regard to which Brooks was involved in trade (Dillon Brooks or MarShon Brooks), so the deal was subsequently ended. Brooks will stay a part of the Grizzlies as a result.

Suns' MarShon Brooks: Shipped to Phoenix
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brooks has been traded from the Grizzlies to the Suns as part of a three-team deal, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Although it was initially reported that Dillon Brooks was on his way to Phoenix, it was later clarified that MarShon Brooks had been traded from Memphis. The deal sends Austin Rivers, Brooks and Wayne Selden to Phoenix, Kelly Oubre to the Grizzlies and Trevor Ariza to the Wizards. Brooks averaged 7.2 points along with 1.7 rebounds over 24 games with Memphis this season and figures to slot in as a role player with the Suns.

Grizzlies' MarShon Brooks: Scores 13 points in Wednesday's win
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brooks accumulated 13 points (5-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-6 FT), four rebounds, three assists, and one steal in 18 minutes during Wednesday's 92-83 win over the Trail Blazers.

Brooks matched season highs in rebounding and assists while reaching double figures in scoring for the sixth time this season. Every so often Brooks will be left out of the rotation (appeared in 24 of 27 games), but more often than not the 29-year-old veteran earns double-digit minutes, though he's only able to accomplish so much in such limited action. With Dillon Brooks (knee) expected to return before the end of the month, MarShon Brooks will soon face even stiffer competition for time along the wing.

Grizzlies' MarShon Brooks: Scores 10 points in Monday's loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brooks had 10 points (4-9 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds, one assist, and one block in 23 minutes during Monday's 96-88 loss to the Grizzlies.

Brooks saw a season high minute total and reached double figures for the second straight game. Dillon Brooks (knee) being out for the next six-to-eight weeks gives MarShon Brooks the opportunity to step up and provide depth along the wing. Regardless, Brooks is best reserved for use in deeper leagues that value counting stats.

Grizzlies' MarShon Brooks: Surprises with 18 points off the bench
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brooks tallied 18 points (7-9 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds and an assist in 19 minutes during Saturday's 117-96 win over the Suns.

The former first-round pick from Providence showed flashes of production at the end of last season and the preseason, but he's spent most of this tenure in Memphis (his fifth team in four years) playing for their G-League team. He's played sparingly in the bigs for Memphis, as Saturday marked only his 11th appearance in two years. The Grizzlies obviously have nothing to lose after an abysmal 2017-18 season, so they are likely to play a hot hand even if they lack experience. Brooks is way down on the depth chart and is unlikely to be of any consequence from a fantasy perspective.

Grizzlies' MarShon Brooks: Perfect from the field in preseason debut
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brooks had 18 points (7-7 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds, one assist and one steal in 16 minutes during Friday's 120-110 preseason victory over the Hawks.

Brooks made his preseason debut Friday after missing the opener due to illness. He had an impactful finish to last season and kicked off again converting on all seven of his field-goal attempts en route to 18 points. His role moving forward is still up in the air, however, should he manage to work his way into at least 20 minutes per night, he could prove to be a nice source of points very late in drafts or off the waiver wire once the season kicks off.

Grizzlies' MarShon Brooks: Out Tuesday with illness
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brooks is dealing with an illness and has been ruled out for Tuesday's preseason opener against the Rockets.

Considering it's simply an illness, Brooks shouldn't be out long and he could return to the lineup as soon as Friday's tilt with Atlanta or Saturday's matchup against Indiana. Once healthy, Brooks will be battling for a depth role on the wing, though he'll likely struggle to remain relevant for fantasy purposes unless a few injuries were to occur.

Grizzlies' MarShon Brooks: Strong finish to season
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brooks recorded 20.1 points, 3.6 assists and 3.1 rebounds across seven games played with the Grizzlies in 2017-18.

Brooks signed a 10-day contract with Memphis in late March and responded by scoring 20-plus points in five of seven games. The former first-round pick's strong end-to-the-year finish was rewarded when Memphis signed the 28-year-old to a two-year deal on April 6.

Grizzlies' MarShon Brooks: Scores 14 points in Monday's loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brooks totaled 14 points (4-16 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five assists, two steals, and one rebound in 32 minutes during Monday's 113-94 loss to the Timberwolves.

Brooks finally failed to make more than 50 percent of his shots or score 20-plus points, both of which he had accomplished in each of his five previous appearances in 2017-18. Expect Brooks to get plenty of shots up once again during Wednesday's season finale versus the Thunder. Moreover, the 32 minutes Brooks saw was second-most on the team despite being moved to a reserve role.

Grizzlies' MarShon Brooks: Headed back to bench role
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brooks will shift back to a bench role for Sunday's game against the Pistons.

With Marc Gasol getting the night off for rest Friday against the Kings, Brooks was elevated into the starting lineup and didn't disappoint, posting 23 points, eight rebounds, three assists, one steal and two blocks across 37 minutes. However, Gasol has since been cleared for a return and will immediately reclaim a spot in the top unit, so Brooks heads back to the bench in the corresponding move. Despite the demotion, Brooks should still see big minutes as a reserve, so his overall workload may only take a minor hit. In four games since signing with the Grizzlies, Brooks is averaging a whopping 23.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals across 28.0 minutes.

Grizzlies' MarShon Brooks: Keeps churning out points Friday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brooks poured in 23 points (11-20 FG, 1-3 3Pt) and added eight rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal across 37 minutes in Friday's 94-93 loss to the Kings.

Fresh off signing a two-year contract earlier in the day, Brooks received the starting nod and once again delivered. The fourth-year pro logged season highs in shot attempts and rebounds while eclipsing the 20-point mark for the fourth time in as many games in a Grizzlies uniform. Brooks has been on fire from the field, shooting no less than 52.9 percent and as high as 61.5 percent in the aforementioned sample. Given his stellar performances thus far, there seems to be little reason to doubt that he'll remain on the first unit for Memphis' final three games.

Grizzlies' MarShon Brooks: Late addition to starting lineup Friday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Grizzlies have added Brooks to their starting lineup at small forward for their matchup with the Kings on Friday.

The Grizzlies made the move at the last possible second by inserting Brooks over Deyonte Davis in the starting unit. Brooks has averaged 23.3 points and 3.7 assists across 25.2 minutes in three games with the Grizzlies since getting picked up.

Grizzlies' MarShon Brooks: Signs two-year deal with Grizzlies
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brooks signed a guaranteed two-year contract with the Grizzlies on Friday.

Brooks only needed one 10-day contract to prove his worth in Memphis. The 29-year-old is a good bet to see extended run over the Grizzlies' final four games of the season, but that won't necessarily stay true for the duration of his two-year deal.

Grizzlies' MarShon Brooks: Posts 25 points, seven dimes in Wednesday's loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brooks totaled 25 points (9-17 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 2-4 FT), seven assists, four rebounds, and two steals in 36 minutes during Wednesday's 123-95 loss to the Pelicans.

Brooks was the lone Grizzly to see more than 28 minutes or score more than 16 points. He clearly wasn't bothered by the ankle issue that forced him to miss Sunday's tilt with the Trail Blazers. Through three appearances this season, Brooks is managing averages of 23.3 points (57.1 FG, 64.7 3Pt, 84.6 FT), 3.7 assists, 3.7 threes, 2.0 rebounds, 1.7 steals, and 0.3 blocks in 25.0 minutes per contest.
