Rockets' Eric Gordon: Will start in Tuesday's Game 5
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Gordon will draw the start over Ryan Anderson during Tuesday's Game 5 against the Spurs, Mark Berman of Fox 26 reports.

After losing Nene Hilario (groin) for the remainder of the postseason, the Rockets will opt to start Gordon over Ryan Anderson, who will be coming off the bench to help back up the center slot. Gordon is already averaging 31.6 minutes per game this postseason, but it seems possible he'll see more run, especially if the game remains close. As a result, Lou Williams could be in for a minutes increase if the Rockets opt to essentially play with a seven-man rotation. He's averaging 7.5 points across 21.0 minutes per game this round.

Rockets' Eric Gordon: Could join starting lineup for Game 5
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Gordon could be pushed into the starting lineup for Tuesday's Game 5 against the Spurs, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.

The Rockets recently lost Nene Hilario for the rest of the postseason because of an adductor tear, so with some serious depth issues at center, Ryan Anderson is expected to come off the bench as the top backup behind Clint Capela. That opens up a spot in the top unit, which should clear the way for Gordon to start. Since nothing is official at this point in time, it's worth it to monitor the situation up until tip off and even if he does get elevated to a starting role, it likely won't mean a huge bump in minutes considering he's already averaged 31.6 so far in the playoffs.

Rockets' Eric Gordon: Leads bench with 22 points in Game 4
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Gordon totaled 22 points (8-13 FG, 6-9 3Pt), three rebounds and one assist over 32 minutes during Sunday's 125-104 Game 4 victory over the Spurs in the Western Conference semifinals.

Gordon checked in second behind James Harden in shot attempts on the Rockets despite his bench role, and he saw over 30 minutes for the second straight contest. He's had the hot hand in three of the series' first four games, shooting 50 percent or better in those contests, and he's sporting a stellar 50.0 percent success rate from behind the arc overall. Gordon will undoubtedly continue to be a key factor on the second unit, and his contributions figure to play a pivotal role in Houston's attempt to steal Game 5 in San Antonio on Tuesday.

Rockets' Eric Gordon: Makes impact off bench with 15 in Game 2 loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Gordon recorded 15 points (6-12 FG, 3-7 3Pt), three rebounds, two assists, a steal and a blocked shot over 28 minutes in Wednesday's 121-96 loss to the Spurs.

With James Harden sitting an extended number of minutes in the second half, Gordon took advantage of the extra playing time. He drained three 3-pointers and made 6-for-12 from the floor in relief, and helped spur a comeback that brought San Antonio's lead to three points, but a 12-0 run in the fourth put the game out of reach. A reliable sixth man for the Rockets, he'll continue to spell Harden throughout the playoffs and will occasionally share the floor with him when he spends time in the 3 slot. He's a great DFS tournament play during playoff time, but not quite reliable enough for heavy consideration in cash lineups.

Rockets' Eric Gordon: Shoots efficiently Wednesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Gordon tallied 22 points (8-14 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one block across 30 minutes in Wednesday's 115-111 victory over the Thunder in Game 2.

After just eight points in Game 1, Gordon responded in Game 2 shooting 50 percent from three, which is his highest percentage from downtown since May 24. Although he comes off the bench, he often finds himself in rotations with playmaker James Harden which bodes well for his chances on finding open looks. Gordon will be a key player in the playoffs as he proved he can put up points in Game 2 and should continue to have the chance to in the rest of the series.
