Mitrou-Long was recalled from the G-League's Salt Lake City Stars on Wednesday.
Long is on the second of his 10-day deals with the Jazz, though has only appeared in one game for the team, totaling three points in one minute. It seems unlikely he'll see significant run moving forward, barring an injury to someone else on the roster or a blowout.
Mitrou-Long was assigned to the G-League's Salt Lake City Stars on Tuesday.
Long recently signed a second 10-day deal with the Jazz, though did not take the floor in the first two games he was eligible for. He's played 34 G-League games this season, averaging 17.2 points, 6.1 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.1 steals in 34.7 minutes.
Mitrou-Long didn't have his 10-day contract renewed by the Jazz and is now a free agent, Tony Jones of the Salt Lake Tribune reports.
Mitrou-Long acted as emergency backcourt depth for the Jazz's final game before the All-Star break with Ricky Rubio (hip) out, but didn't end up seeing the floor. He won't be retained for a second 10-day deal following the break and will instead, head back to the G-League. There's certainly a chance Mitrou-Long is given an opportunity elsewhere for a team in need of backcourt depth, though no matter where he lands, he's unlikely to become a fantasy contributor.
Mitrou-Long is planning on signing a 10-day deal with the Jazz in the wake of Ricky Rubio's (hip) injury, Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports reports.
Mitrou-Long had previously been with the Jazz on a two-way contract, appearing in one game, before being waived in mid-January. Since then, he's been with Utah's G-League affiliate -- the Salt Lake City Stars. There, he's averaged 16.7 points, 6.1 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.2 steals in 34.6 minutes while drilling 3.2 threes per game at a 35.7 percent clip. If Rubio ends up on the shelf, Donovan Mitchell would likely slide into the point guard slot, opening up more run for Alec Burks at shooting guard, as well as possibly Mitrou-Long.
