Bennett accounted for 26 points (10-22 FG, 6-16 3Pt), nine rebounds, three assists, three steals and one block during the Red Claws' 118-111 loss to the Herd.
The former first pick in the NBA Draft has now strung together consecutive games of scoring more than 26 points. Bennett is averaging 28.5 points over his last two games while knocking down 41.9 percent of his shots from three-point range. Currently, the 25-year-old Canadian product is adding 14.5 points and 6.7 rebounds per contest for the Red Claws this season.
Bennett banged out 31 points (11-23 FG, 7-15 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 10 rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block across 36 minutes in Tuesday's 126-125 road loss to the Delaware 87ers.
The bruising power forward extended his streak of double-digit scoring to nine straight games during this close loss on the road. This was unfortunately the sixth straight loss for the Crustacean Nation. The seven made threes matched a career high for the burly Canadian. Bennett should continue to see big minutes for the Red Claws' last four games. The Celtics, dealing with multiple injuries, will probably keep Kadeem Allen and Jabari Bird up with the parent club for the foreseeable future. One more injury in Boston, and Bennett might find himself in Celtic green.
Bennett added 10 points (4-9 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 0-2 FT), six rebounds, one assist and one steal during Friday's 114-108 loss to the BayHawks.
Bennett was just able to reach double figures in scoring Friday night, as it was his eight straight game with 10-plus points. The former number-one pick in the NBA Draft is averaging 13.6 points and 6.5 rebounds this season with the Red Claws.
Bennett returned to the G-League for Wednesday's game against the Canton Charge and finshed with 12 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals in 19 minutes.
Bennett had been away from the team while competing for Team Canada in a FIBA qualifier, but he rejoined the Red Claws earlier in the week and did not appear to miss a beat. All 12 of Bennett's points came in the first half.
Bennett is absent from the Red Claws in order to join the Canadian National team for their FIBA World Cup qualification games.
Bennett should return to Crustacean Nation after February 25th. In the mean time, he'll be enjoying the warmer weather of Nassau, competing in FIBA Group D against the national teams from the Dominican Republic, Virgin Islands and host-nation Bahamas. The burly power forward should return to the Claws before their Wednesday, February 28th game at Canton. That means he'll miss, unfortunately, two more games in addition to last night's absence.
